Cleaning Business - an industry untouched in india

Starting a cleaning business is ideal for small-scale entrepreneurs as it does not demand much investment of money and once stabilised could turn out to be really profitable.

The cleaning industry, basically, is divided into three parts:

1) Domestic:

In domestic cleaning business, the entrepreneurs provide services to households, like maids. It will be all about cleaning a home.

2) Commercial

Commercial is a bit more demanding than domestic. In commercial cleaning services, you will need a team as it is all about cleaning big office buildings or marts.

3) Specialised:

Specialised cleaning is related to schools or universities, where you can make a contract with the institution and provide cleaning staff.

Before starting a cleaning business, it is important for you to find your niche. Find out whether you want to go into domestic cleaning business or others, as providing services for all the three branches would turn out a difficult task to manage and that’s the last thing you want.

Here are a few points to help you kick-start cleaning business:

1) Research

Either you want to start an ice-cream parlour or cleaning service, research is an important aspect of every business. The first thing you want to do is research about the market, its changes, and everything. It will not only help you to plan your business model but also to understand your work much better.

2) Capital Stability

Capital stability is a necessity for your business. Capital is like a fuel which will burn to make your business grow. But, from where would you manage capital stability? This is the time you make a good pitch for your startup for the investors to take you seriously. Always be the first investor for your business, and then go for angel investors, Crowdfunding, and etc.

3) Business Plan

The business plan for a cleaning service must have all the essentials, like budget, people you need, and etc. A business plan is your navigation tool which will lead you to correct places without wasting time, energy or money. The knowledge of the market is very important. Decide what your target market is and plan accordingly. It is important for an entrepreneur to write a strategic business plan as a business plan is a base, backbone or whatever crucial thing you can come up with, of your company.

4) Marketing

Marketing works as a catalyst to induce growth of your company. It is very important to promote your services so that it can reach to other peoples who are not your consumers. In today’s time, the use of social media for marketing is very important as the customer is leaning towards vitality. So, give your company a platform on social media, make your websites, send newsletters to your customers, and etc. to promote the growth of your business.

5) Location

Location plays an important role in deciding the fate and growth of your company. The location is more about understanding the market. While researching, find out if the place where you want to start your cleaning business has a place for your services or not. If the location you want to start your business from is not ‘your-service-friendly’ then there are no chances of the growth of your business.
